What are the practice hours?

Our practice is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Debit and CareCredit

Can I make payments?

Payment is required at the time of service. Six month interest free payment plans are available through CareCredit with no money down. Please contact our office at 941-391-5251 for more information or visit www.carecredit.com.

How do I know what my fees will be at each visit?

After initial examination, an estimate will be prepared based on the devised treatment plan and reviewed with you for your approval.

What type of pets do you treat?

We treat small companion animals.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are strongly recommended but not necessary. If you choose to arrive without a scheduled appointment, please keep in mind we will assist those with appointments first but will care for your pet as quickly as possible. In the event of an emergency your pet will be treated immediately. We do promise to work as quickly as possible to provide all pets with the care they need.

What should I bring with me to my first appointment?

Any medical records you may have along with a list of any medications, over the counter products, food or treats your pet is receiving.

Can I drop my pet off for treatment?

For your convenience we do offer admit or drop off services for routine, diagnostic and surgical care. You may bring your pet in to the practice as early as 7:30 AM, at that time we will reserve a discharge appointment that is convenient for your schedule. If the medical staff has any questions or concerns, they will contact you via telephone.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

Try to remain calm and call us immediately at 391-5251. If the emergency occurs outside of our business hours, utilize the services of the nearest veterinary emergency clinic. The Veterinary Emergency Clinic located at 17829 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948 is closest to Groves Veterinary Clinic. They can be reached at 941-255-5222.

Can I visit if my pet needs to be hospitalized?

Visits from family members are comforting for both owners and patients so we encourage owners to visit their pets. In order to provide the best care for your pet, we do ask that you reserve a time for visitation with a client relations specialist or nurse. We do have a comfort suite available for you to spend time with your pet while hospitalized.

Do you board pets?

We offer cat boarding as a service to our clients. Boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff and may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. All boarding cats must be up to date on their annual examinations, vaccinations as well as flea and tick prevention.
